“What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?”  The world is filled with examples of just such a morality tale.  This does not mean that one should abandon ambition, enthusiasm for a goal, or achievement.  The character traits of honesty, persistence, self confidence and goodness are what make an achievement enjoyable – and lasting.
