We relate and accept the evidence of the perceptive senses — hear, see, touch — as if this evidence is reality – and yet our reason is frequently automatically adjusting our reception of this evidence. We know that the railroad track does not close up ahead, the mountain does not touch the sky, what appears to be water in the distance is simply a mirage.
